The tournament is held in the historic grounds of Pontefract Castle, and is programmed and run by The Wakefield Archers. The shoot is held once a year, as near to the first Saturday in September as possible, and is in memory of the Pomfret Archery Club who disbanded in the 1970's.
The 60 stands for the distance shot to the target from the shooting line, and also for the number of arrows that are shot in each half of the tournament, the first 60 are shot from the start time of 10.00hrs to lunch break at around 12.30hrs. The second round of 60 are then shot.
Entrants must be members of the GNAS or other recognised archery society having public liability cover which is operative at GNAS shoots.
No Ground Markers allowed
Dress Code - Greens or Whites
Shooting Starts at 10.00 a.m.
